DUNEDIN (FOX 13) - Investigators say they found an arsenal of weapons and three bombs in a Dunedin 24-year-old's home.
Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri described the haul found in a home while executing a search warrant for child pornography.
Randall Drake was described by the sheriff as a "sleeper," meaning he has no criminal record and was not on the radar of any intelligence agencies.
In Drake's home, investigators found three bombs, an AK47, a .50 caliber pistol, crossbows, a silencer made from an oil can, numerous handguns, a container of gunpowder, dozens of knives, more than 2,300 rounds of ammunition, and brass knuckles.
The sheriff pointed out, all of the weapons are legal, but the bombs are not.
Also found in the home were military instruction manuals, information about local schools and a water treatment plant, tactical gear, and a "troubling" handwritten letter, the sheriff said.
The letter, transcribed by investigators, reads, "The daughter's come and I am ready. I have Fed on my Hatred For centuries. My fury on those who have imprisoned me shall be vast and without MERCY. I shall have my bloody revenge, and then the WORLD WILL BURN BURN."
Gualtieri added, Drake "named his guns," adding "that's weird."
Sheriff Gualtieri said Drake's known history is limited, but investigators know he was in the Explorer program with the Tampa Police Department. He worked for a brief time at a firearms store.
Drake was homeschooled starting in third grade. The family lived in Hillsborough County until 2014 when they moved to Pinellas County.
Drake's bond was set at $20,000. The sheriff said if he bonds out, he will be taken into involuntary custody for mental health evaluation.
