Suspect breaks into Metropolitan Ministries thrift store

On a day that Metropolitan Ministries is serving a free Easter meal to the homeless, the organization discovered its thrift store had been broken into.

A male suspect can be seen on surveillance video throwing a brick through the glass front door of the thrift store on N. Florida Avenue.

The organization said its cash register was stolen, although there was no money in it at the time. Fortunately, nothing else was stolen.

Metropolitan Ministries said the thrift store is open, but they will have do transactions manually until they get a new register.

This is the second burglary of the thrift store in the last year.
