Miami murder suspect arrested in Hillsborough County

- A murder suspect from the Miami-area was arrested in Thonotosassa neighborhood Friday morning.

Hillsborough County deputies responded to the home in the 9300 block of Grandfield Road around 1:30 a.m. They said Miami-Dade police called to report a known murder suspect, Saddoni Dowtin, in the area. 

Deputies said they tried to make contact with Dowtin inside the home but were unsuccessful. They were not sure if he was armed, and called for the SWAT team after 7 a.m. Surrounding homes were evacuated and a nearby school bus stop was rerouted.

Around 8:20 a.m. Dowtin surrendered and deputies say he was "peacefully" arrested.

According to Miami-Dade police, Dowtin was wanted for a homicide that occurred on Friday, July 13. The details around the murder was not immediately available.
