Two diners inside a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant had to be hospitalized after a truck slammed into the building this afternoon.

The crash happened at the 66th Street North location.  Police say the truck struck another vehicle head-on, then veered into the building.

The front of the truck’s cab came to rest inside the KFC’s dining area.  Two customers were injured badly enough to be hospitalized, as was the driver of the other vehicle in the initial crash.

The Pinellas Park Fire Department was on scene mopping up fuel that had leaked from the truck.

The cause of the initial crash was not immediately available.
