USF doctors travel to Bahamas to provide aid after Hurricane Dorian

TAMPA, Fla. - Doctors from the University of South Florida College of Medicine flew to the Bahamas to spend the weekend working at Nassau clinics and hospitals. 

Dr. Asa Oxner along with four other USF doctors flew from Tampa to Nassau on Friday with thousands of pounds of supplies in tow. 

The university partnered with Execu-Jet and K.FORCE to coordinate the use of private planes to deliver the manpower and supplies to the teams they’ve connected with in Nassau. 

“We’re using fast jets to get in within an hour, and our supplies are in the hands of people within two to three hours after that," Ray Morganti said. "WhatsApp has been instrumental in coordinating travel and drop off locations."

USF has cleared their doctors to stay in Nassau through Monday.
