Video voyeur suspect arrested in Pinellas County

- Pinellas Park police detectives arrested 49-year-old John Gibbs after they were able to identify 14 different victims in a video voyeurism investigation.

The investigation began March 2 when officers were called to an office building at 12360 66th Street North in Pinellas Park to investigate a suspicious incident in one of the women's restrooms inside the building.

Officers say they found two separate video recording devices above the ceiling tiles inside two different women's restrooms.  The devices contained video of multiple women and two men who had been recorded using the restroom.

Detectives were able to identify Gibbs from images captured on the recording device.  Officers say he was a maintenance worker for the office building.

Investigators say 14 different victims have been identified.  However, several more victims remain unidentified.

Detectives have notified the office building management of their findings.  The building's management has since notified the 60 different small businesses inside the building.

Pinellas Park police are asking  anyone who either works, visited, or been a customer of any of the businesses inside the office building, who thinks they may have been a victim to contact them at
727-369-7864.

Detectives believe Gibbs had been recording videos since the beginning of February 2018.
