Sarasota police search for suspect after woman found dead

- A woman's body has been found inside a home on 42nd Street in Sarasota, according to police. 

They believe she was killed but were unable to release details about her death or who might be involved.

Despite the lack of publicly-known details, police say there is no known threat to the public.

The Sarasota Police Department says officers were called by emergency services for help with "an injured person" around 6 p.m. 

The person was a deceased woman believed to be in her 40s.

Police could not say how long ago the woman died or the manner of her death. It was also unclear if the woman lived at the home.
