Jeffrey Burow and his family are using the Christmas season as a way to help others.

Their new twist to help families have a Merry Christmas is What's Right With Tampa Bay.

Jeffrey Burow is a cycling enthusiast who's embarking on a trip to ride across Florida.

Jeffrey is using his love for cycling to help raise money for families that need help during the holiday season.

"[I hope to] let others know that [there are] people out there that care and maybe just give somebody that little extra boost that they need to get through a hard time," Jeff said.

The idea came from his family. They call the effort Giving Away Christmas.

"This year my children said that they don't want anything for Christmas," said Jeffrey. "They [would] rather give their money away to someone else."

On Christmas Eve, Jeffery is going to ride from Weeki Wachee to Cocoa Beach. The 310-mile trip will take about 20 hours.

He's encouraging people to donate money through a GoFundMe page.

"We [have] been the recipients and we just want to do what we can to give back to our community," Jeffery explained.

Jeffery says on Christmas, instead of opening presents they will open up e-mails from the people that they will be helping.
