Ghosts? Video from inside school shows activity long after students have gone

Surveillance video inside a school in Cork City, Ireland appears to show some activity long after the students have gone.

Deerpark Christian Brothers School (CBS) posted the video on YouTube with the caption, "Ghost caught on camera?"

The video, which has more than five million views and counting, shows lockers opening and closing, lockers shaking, books flying out of lockers, and the wet floor sign flipping and flying across the floor.

"The school is quite a scary building and some people let their imaginations run away with them," said self-proclaimed skeptic Aaron Wolfe, the school's deputy principal.

Students complain of noises and things going missing, along with lights going on and off at night and teachers say they've had to relock their doors, Wolfe said.

The school sits in an area rich with history, Wolfe said. The institution was founded in 1828 and the school was located to its current spot in 1968.

Wolfe says during the penal times and during the Irish Famine, the area where the school sits was the location of the gallows and many people were hanged there. "We're also very close to the famine work house (which is now a hospital) - so there's a lot of history in the area," Wolfe said.

However, he says he doesn't believe any of it, in regard to what was found on video. "I just don't know how anyone could have pulled it off!" he said.

He did, however, hint that it just may have something to do with an upcoming event at the school, called Fearpark. The night of October 29 the school will be open to the public, who will be able “to see if it’s really haunted after all.”
