Straz Center ready to raise the curtain on renovations

- The Straz Center for the Performing Arts is finishing a multi-million-dollar renovation ahead of its new season.

“The building has great bones, it just needed a little updating,” said C.O.O. Lorrin Shepard.

Renovations include new wood floors on the stages, new cooler LED lighting, and improved dressing rooms for performers.

The Straz hosts the hit musical ‘Hamilton’ in February. The long-running musical ‘Chicago’ opens Tuesday September 18.
