FHP: Two teenagers killed in SR-64 crash

- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left two teenagers dead Saturday night.

Troopers said the crash happened on State Road 64 at Pope Road shortly after 7:30 p.m. According to investigators, 17-year-old Chase Coyner attempted to make a left turn onto Pope Road and turned in the direct path of an oncoming Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Coyner and his passenger, 15-year-old Matthew Powers, were both pronounced deceased.

A 12-year-old passenger in the pickup truck was critically injured, troopers said. The driver of the truck, 39-year-old Dallas Gross, suffered minor injuries.
