Glass art gallery is itself a work of art

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - An internationally recognized glass art gallery is right in our backyard in St. Pete. It's home to the largest glass art collection in the Southeast and is What's Right with Tampa Bay.

"We have thousands of pieces, probably 3,000 pieces, said Duncan McClellan, owner of the Duncan McClellan Gallery.

The gallery features rotating exhibitions showcasing nationally and internationally recognized glass artists. Glass is the primary medium, and artists are given the opportunity to work in the onsite hotshop. 

"Glass is very varied, so it’s a medium that a lot of artists have been attracted to because of the many different qualities that glass has,” McClellan continued. “It’s a very special art form, that it’s very different than many others because it is very collaborative.”

The gallery in itself is a work of art. McClellan transformed a 7,800-square-foot former fish and tomato packing plant into a beautiful, multi-functional space full of beautiful art.
