TAMPA (FOX 13) - The time has come for us to spring forward!
Tampa Bay area locals are being reminded to set their clocks ahead an hour this weekend for Daylight Saving Time.
The change officially occurs at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, though many will change their clocks before heading to bed Saturday night.
The shift moves one hour of daylight to the evening, meaning our beautiful Bay area sunrises and sunsets will come later in the day than they have been.
Along with changing your clocks, fire safety officials also recommend changing your smoke detector batteries.
The batteries, and the time change, should both last you through November 6, 2016, when we’re set to “fall back” again.
