ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - A St. Petersburg woman has passed away more than a week after a freak accident involving a piece of metal on the Howard Frankland Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
On the morning of April 4, 62-year-old Glenn Musto was heading northbound on Interstate 275 over the bridge, troopers said. He was approaching the bridge’s hump when a red sedan in front of him ran over a piece of metal laying on the road.
The impact propelled the metal onto the engine hood of Glenn’s 2017 Lexus RX300, and through the windshield, hitting his passenger, 65-year-old Margaret Musto. She was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital with critical injuries, but passed away on Saturday, April 14, troopers announced.
FHP says no charges are pending.
