TAMPA (FOX 13) - Two 6-week-old puppies stolen from a Bay area animal shelter have been found!
Humane Society of the Nature Coast officials announced the great news Friday morning, just one day after they posted surveillance video of the theft on their Facebook page.
In the video, we got a clear view of the man as he walked through the rooms, collected supplies, stole one of the dogs and then returned for the other.
The Humane Society uploaded it in hopes that someone would recognize him, and it turns out, their plan worked.
“With over 1.5k shares and over 47.5k views of our posts, it is with a great sigh of relief and overwhelming happiness that we can tell you all that THE PUPPIES ARE BACK!,” they said. “We received a tip and it was presented to the Hernando County Sheriff's Department. The puppies are back, safe at the shelter, with their mother and siblings. Again, thank you all!"
Previously, those involved said there were no plans to press charges as long as the puppies were returned to safety.
Deputies have not yet said if any arrests have been made.
