Hurricane season 2024 expected to be ?very active?
FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg says the 2024 hurricane season is expected to have 17-25 named storms as we transition to La Nina, which is going to hold down the wind shear in the tropical Atlantic. Plus, the sea surface temperatures are far above normal, so when something does develop it will be working with a lot of moisture and energy. June is typically a pretty quiet month and averages a named storm every couple of years. According to Osterberg, there is no tropical development expected over the next seven days.
