An 11-year-old boy who was killed by a hit and run driver was laid to rest Sunday.

Family and friends packed into Gonzalez Funeral Home on Dale Mabry Highway, just a few miles from where Torres was found dead. They remembered the boy as a bright and passionate child.

"He brought a lot of joy to a lot of people and always had a smile on his face," said the pastor who gave Torres' eulogy.

Alexander Torres left school last Friday on his bike, but never made it home.

He was found dead on Hillsborough Avenue, on the bridge over the river.

Deputies still haven't found the driver who killed him. A witness described the car possibly involved as a gray or gun metal Nissan Altima, possibly a 2005 or 2006 model.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
