At least two people found dead in Tarpon Springs home

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. (FOX 13) - Police in Tarpon Springs are investigating after multiple people were found dead in a Tarpon Springs home.

The scene is along Juanita Way in the Meadows subdivision. That's a retirement community off Anclote Boulevard west of U.S. 19.

A police spokesman said officers responded to a call for a welfare check at the home just after noon and "discovered more than one person deceased under suspicious circumstances."

Detectives have been waiting for hours for a search warrant to get inside and expand their investigation.

"At this point, I wouldn't say there's any community safety issue," Tarpon Springs Sgt. Robert Faugno said. 

Despite the reassurance, neighbors in the community are on edge after learning of the investigation surrounding the deaths.

"It's very frustrating. It's a very quiet, very nice mobile home park, needless to say never had anything like this," resident Grant Pursell said.

No further details about the victims or their relation have been released.
