INVERNESS (FOX 13) - John and Mary Funderburk capture moments together while capturing photos.
"In Flickr alone, we have posted I think 17,000 pictures," said John.
The amateur photographers have their favorite spots for snapping shots.
"We just love the Florida parks," said Mary.
During a trip to the Panhandle, John took a photo of a great blue heron at Gulf Islands National Seashores. A company that works with the post office saw it on Flickr and reached out.
"I said, 'Well why that picture? You want a blue heron? I think I got some better pictures," said John.
They wanted that picture for a Forever Stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service.
"They were probably looking for maybe more the title where it was taken because it was a national seashore," said John.
His last brush with fame in a photo was back in 1954 when he snagged a picture with Hollywood legend, Marilyn Monroe.
"She had come to entertain the troops," explained John.
Now he's a bit of a local celebrity.
"It was a lot of excitement when we went up to New York for the presentation. That was really kind of special," said John.
