LARGO, Fla. (FOX 13) - Kittens and pups in Pinellas County need foster homes, and Pinellas County Animal Services says all it takes is "a big heart, but only a small amount of time."
The Pinellas County Animal Services says it receives 40 to 50 new kittens every week around this time of year and they need a temporary safe place to stay for two-to-four weeks to be socialized and get ready for adoption.
The shelter also needs temporary foster homes for dogs.
To foster, volunteers have to fill out applications online, take a brief orientation course, and then Pinellas County Animal Services will take care of the rest, including medical support, food, and other supplies.
There are two upcoming orientations:
Saturday, April 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m.
Both will be held at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo.
