Police hunt for straw hat-wearing suspect in Largo bank robbery

    • Authorities are searching for a suspect who robbed a Valley Bank branch on East Bay Drive in Largo on Monday afternoon.
    • The suspect wore a straw hat, green button-down shirt, dark sports jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers during the crime. 
    • Law enforcement officials say the individual was last seen leaving the scene on a dark-colored mountain bike. 

LARGO, Fla. - Police are searching for a suspect that robbed a Largo bank Monday afternoon.

What we know:

The Largo Police Department said the bank robbery happened just after 1:30 p.m. at Valley Bank, which is located on East Bay Drive. 

Largo police released images of the suspect, who they said went into the bank wearing a dark-colored sports jacket with a green button-down shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a straw hat. 

The suspect was last seen leaving the area on a dark-colored mountain bike, according to investigators.
