EAGAN, Minn. (FOX 13) - A dog in Minnesota found himself in a dangerous situation.
The Eagan Fire Department received a call on Monday after a dog fell through the ice at Wescott Station Park. Police said the dog was out for a walk with its owner when it began to chase some ducks.
In an attempt to catch the ducks, the dog went too far out onto the thin ice and fell through. An Eagan firefighter crawled out to the ice to reach the dog, but the pet managed to free itself and swim to shore.
Officers said the incident is a good reminder about the dangers of thin ice as they begin to thaw out in warmer temperatures.
