Police in Titusville, Florida confirm that investigators are trying to figure out if a missing teenager out of Miami could be the same girl at the center of an Amber Alert issued out of Brevard County days ago.

Now, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children says that they have posted on their website that 17-year-old Daina Bellegarde was last seen on May 7 in Miami, and they are interested in the Amber Alert case in Central Florida, trying to figure out if there's a connection.

“We know that investigators in Miami have a strong interest in looking at our case to see if it’s related,” said Titusville Police Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.

On Tuesday, witnesses in Titusville told police that they saw a teenager being pulled into an SUV. Investigators said the description of the girl's appearance and clothes are similar to those of the missing Miami teen.

"We showed pictures of the missing girl, several of them, to our witness," said Hutchinson. “Didn’t have a very high confidence level at first, because the witness said ‘No,’ but she has since changed her mind and said it’s a possibility.”

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Titusville Police Department or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-THE-LOST.
