NEW PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) - The driver of a truck that hit and killed a Pasco County bicyclist has contacted authorities to admit her involvement in the crash, according to troopers.
Shanna Marie Rampino surrendered her 2000 Toyota pickup to troopers Sunday afternoon. Troopers say she contacted them following intense media coverage surrounding the Sunday morning hit-and-run accident.
Just before 6:00 a.m., Shawn Michael Grady was riding his bike southbound on Rowan Road when a truck hit him just south of Massachusetts Avenue. The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene, Grady died a short time later.
No charges have been announced in the accident, though troopers are continuing their investigation.
