UF working on environmentally safe sunscreen

The coming Memorial Day weekend usually marks the beginning of  the beach season for many American.  They slather on sunscreen and take a dip in the ocean, and very few give thought to whether the chemicals in the lotions and sprays are safe for aquatic life, like corals

Now, a University of Florida medicinal chemistry professor and her colleagues have discovered a natural sunscreen made by microbes that may be better for humans and the environment as well.
