The Bay Area continues to be in good shape when it comes to the tropics. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says there is no development expected over the next five days. However, he is watching a few tropical waves that do not appear to have any organization.

The tropics are currently quiet with no development expected over the next five days. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says wind shear and Saharan dust is helping to keep the tropics calm at the moment. He does not expect any type of tropical weather to impact the Bay Area any time in the near future.

FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says three tropical waves are active in the Atlantic and could make their way to the Caribbean as we move into the first week of July. None pose a major threat to Florida or the United States, at this point, but they're a sign the season is ramping up as water temperatures increase.

The first is in the Gulf of Mexico and has a 20% chance of developing within the next five days, but Sadkiu says while it may create showers and storms, it would head west and not impact Florida. A tropical wave in the middle of the Atlantic has a 70% chance of development over the next five days, but is projected to track well south of Florida. If it does develop into a named storm, it will be called Bonnie.
