Mayor Jane Castor announced Mary O'Connor as her pick for the new Tampa police chief in a press conference on Tuesday. O'Connor is a former assistant chief of operations at the agency and served for more than two decades. Interim chief Ruben Delgado will serve as the assistant chief.
