Tropical Update: August 27, 2022
It?s been a fairly quiet hurricane season so far. FOX 13 Meteorologist Tony Sadiku says it?s been 54 days since we?ve had a named storm. He says this is only the 5th time since 1950 that we had a quiet stretch this long. Sadiku is watching a tropical wave in the Caribbean that has a 20% chance of developing over the next five days. He is also watching a tropical wave in the Atlantic that is showing more promise in terms of potential development. It has a 30% chance of developing over the next five days. He says as we head into the peak of hurricane season we need to pay more attention to the tropics but there is no immediate threat to Florida.
