Potential tropical system may impact Florida
FOX 13 Meteorologist Dave Osterberg has his eye on the tropics as we head into the heart of hurricane season. He is watching an area of moisture that’s sitting over Central America has a 50 percent chance of developing over the next week as it heads into the Caribbean and eventually the Gulf of Mexico. He says that while wind shear should keep it fairly weak, it could become a named storm. Regardless, the system will bring rain to central and South Florida next week. Two other disturbances are in the middle of the Atlantic and while Tropical Storm Franklin may gain hurricane strength as it moves into the Atlantic, it will not impact the Sunshine State.
