Ambassador Andrew Young Reflects on the Florida Movement

Former UN Ambassador Andrew Young served as Dr. Martin Luther King’s top lieutenant through the civil rights movement. In June 1964, Dr. King sent Young to St. Augustine to cancel a night march, because he thought it would be too dangerous for the women and children who planned to cross paths with the Ku Klux Klan. However, in an unintended twist, Rev Young wound up leading the march, and was beaten unconscious in a turning point that turbocharged the movement. Fox 13’s Craig Patrick sat down with Ambassador Young to hear the story firsthand.
