Sometimes, one person's trash isn't another person's treasure. Organizations like Goodwill and Salvation Army rely on donations, but while they're grateful for the good stuff you give, the last thing they need if someone's junk. If you aren't sure about an item you're thinking of donating, Goodwill says just to ask.
