Teen arrested for first-degree murder in deadly Tarpon Springs shooting: Police

A 15-year-old was arrested for first-degree murder after a deadly Tarpon Springs shooting Monday evening, police said. 

What we know:

The Tarpon Springs Police Department said the teen, who was identified as Jerimiah Ashley, was arrested at around 6:45 p.m., less than a day since the shooting. 

Authorities said the shooting happened in the 1300 block of Starlight Cove in Tarpon Springs at around 8 p.m. on Monday. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim, who was identified by police as 36-year-old Candice Stinson, was found unresponsive.

They began giving her first aid, and she was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. She died from her injuries there. 

What we don't know:

Tarpon Springs police also confirmed the teen and the victim were not related to each other, but have not confirmed whether they were known to each other.
