X outage appears fixed after users report issues

Tens of thousands of X users reported problems with the social media app and website Friday morning, according to the DownDetector website. 

X, formerly Twitter, is owned by billionaire Elon Musk. 

Is X down? 

What we know:

Reports of X being down peaked around 9:40 a.m. with more than 150,000 users reporting issues. That number dropped to fewer than 6,000 users by late morning, and fewer than 1,000 by 2 p.m. EST.

Users said posts weren’t loading on the "For You" and "Following" feeds. 

What we don't know:

It’s unclear what may have caused the outage. X wasn’t immediately available for comment.
