Lithia man arrested after hidden cameras, child porn and over 1,000 voyeurism files found in home: HCSO

A Lithia man is behind bars after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives say they discovered hidden cameras, thousands of files containing voyeurism and child pornography on devices inside his home.

What we know:

According to investigators, detectives served a search warrant at the home of Michael Boyd, 67, on Tuesday, leading to his arrest.

Hidden cameras found in home

HCSO detectives say during the search, investigators reportedly found more than 1,000 files related to voyeurism and more than 100 files containing child pornography.

Detectives also discovered Boyd had allegedly installed hidden cameras in private areas throughout the residence.

What they're saying:

"This man welcomed others into his home while they unknowingly became victims of his disturbing crimes," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "While presenting himself as someone there to help and support those staying in the residence, he secretly installed hidden cameras violating trust and privacy."

Boyd was booked on 1,015 counts of digital voyeurism and 100 counts of child pornography possession.

What we don't know:

HCSO has not released additional details about potential victims or how long the alleged recordings were taking place.

Boyd made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
