Hawk rescued from palm tree

Firefighters rescued a pet hawk from a palm tree in Miami.

A hawk that was missing for a week turned up in a 60-foot palm tree in the Miami suburb of Homestead earlier this week.

The hawk had gotten its training leash tangled in the branches and couldn’t get out.

Firefighters with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue used a platform lift to reach the bird and untangle it.

Once freed, the firefighters reunited the hawk with its grateful owner.
