Body of missing boater found after son, 2 others swim to shore

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit located the body of Dwight Haggins, 33, after they say a dingy he was in with three other people, including his 6-year-old son, sank Friday night.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call for help in the water behind Madeira Beach Fundamental Elementary School around 11:10 p.m. on Friday.

Investigators say Nicholas Dunski, 31, Dunski launched his dingy from the Madeira Beach McDonalds located at 650 150th Avenue with Haggins, Haggin’s son and Erik Echols, 31, and headed south toward Dunski’s boat, which was anchored offshore.
