Tee off from the upper deck at Ray J this weekend
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Leave your football pads at home, and grab your golf clubs. This weekend at Raymond James Stadium, you can tee off from the upper deck.
Stadiumlinks - as in golf links - rented Ray J for the weekend. They have placed nine tee boxes all over the stadium for golfers to get a unique view of the stadium.
High, low, end zone, midfield - tee off and hit shots to different greens painted on the field. The goal is, of course, to get it as close to the pin as you can.
You can compete against your playing partner, yourself, or just have fun. The shots range from 50 to 150 yards, so no drivers allowed, and you're not allowed to aim at the pirate ship!
"When you are up that high, too, it can be a little scary, make you a little nervous, because the elevation is pretty high," said Jon Stephens, the founder of Stadiumlinks. "Without realizing it, when they set foot in one of their favorite venues, and specifically where they have these sports memories and hit their own golf shots, they feel like they are a part of the action."
Tee times cost $85 and there were still a few left as of Thursday evening. You can start as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 10 p.m. It runs Friday through Sunday.
They do have right-handed clubs, but if you're a lefty, you'll have to bring your own.
Raymond James Stadium is the fourth venue in which Stadiumlinks has held an event like this.
