Victim’s description helps identify rape suspect

NORTH PORT, Fla. - A 72-year-old victim's description of her alleged rapist turns out to have been a near-perfect match.
A composite sketch, released by North Port police after the Dec. 8 attack, looks quite similar to the man identified using DNA evidence.
US Marshal, North Port Police, Sarasota deputies, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are searching for Robert McKenzie, 28, who is now wanted for assaulting the in a gazebo along US 41 in North Port.

Officers believe McKenzie was living outside North Port, in the Warm Mineral Springs area of unincorporated Sarasota County, but likely fled the area after a sketch of his likeness was released.
