Tropical wave to bring rain to Bay Area
FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber is keeping an eye on three areas in the tropics, including Dexter, which is now a post-tropical system working its way out to sea. He?s watching an area off the east coast that may become a sub-tropical system as it moves away from the United States. Weber is also monitoring Invest 96L that has a 60% chance of developing over the next seven days. There is also a tropical wave over the Bahamas that is working its way toward Florida and will up our rain chances over the next few days.

Tropical Storm Dexter heads out as tropics heat up
FOX 13 Meteorologist Valerie Mills is watching the tropics as they begin to wake up. She is watching three areas, including Tropical Storm Dexter, which is moving out to sea. Mills says an area off the coast of the southeaster United States has a 40 percent chance of developing over the next week. She also noted that a tropical wave emerging off the coast of Africa has a 50 percent chance of developing over the next seven days. The next name of the 2025 hurricane season is Erin.

He said the fourth named storm of the hurricane season is moving out to see. He is also watching a wave set to roll off the coast of Africa within the next week. However, Osterberg says the computer models are all over the place as to where it will go, so we?ll have to take a wait and see approach. He is also monitoring an area of the southeast coast of the United States that has the potential to cause tropical rain late in the week along the coast of the Carolinas and the east coast of Florida.

Drier air will follow by the end of the week. Weber is also watching Invest 94, which has a 20% chance of development over the next week. As it works its way into the Caribbean, Weber says it will encounter drier air and wind shear that is expected to inhibit the system from developing. While it looks like development is a log shot, Weber says there is a small chance Invest 94 could find a small pocket of favorable conditions to strengthen.
