Baby in lap of wheelchair-bound adult injured in hit-and-run

HOLIDAY (FOX 13) - Florida Highway Patrol says troopers are investigating a hit-and-run crash that resulted in a child being airlifted to the hospital.

Troopers tell us it happened just before 10 Friday night along Holiday Drive and Bonita Road.

They say the child was on the lap of a person in a wheelchair. Both of them were thrown about 20 feet.

FHP says the child is in critical condition. It was unclear if the person in the wheelchair was injured.

FHP is still trying to determine who, and in what type of vehicle, hit the two.
