CLEARWATER, Fla. - A youth football coach from Gainesville has been arrested after multiple fights broke out at a youth football game at the Countryside Sports Complex in Clearwater, according to police.

The backstory:
Earick Williams, 36, of Gainesville was arrested and charged with battery and disorderly conduct after police say he initiated a verbal altercation with several people on the field which led to a physical confrontation with an opposing coach.
Witnesses say that Williams was identified as the main aggressor as he punched the man and left a cut on the left side of his face and ear.

Clearwater Police officers responded to the game at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday where they say two people were injured.
Investigators say 10-15 people were involved in the disturbance on the field.

Williams is being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
