Police detectives are following a trail of blood and cash Monday after an early morning gas station robbery.

Tampa police said a man with a knife walked into a convenience store in the 4200 block of Busch Boulevard and ordered the clerk to hand over the till.

The suspect then dropped it, picked it back up and had some sort of struggle before he eventually got away with the cash.

Investigators said he dropped some of the money along the way.

K9 officers and other detectives are following a trail, but have yet to make any arrests.

FOX 13 will continue with updates as they become available.
