Sports radio host Steve Duemig passes away
TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Longtime sports radio personality Steve Duemig passed away Thursday morning, his former radio station says.
Duemig, known on-air as “The Big Dog” started with WFNS radio in 1991 after a 13-year career as a PGA golfer. He joined WDAE in 1996, where he remained until his final show in February 2018. He also spent time as the Tampa Bay Lightning’s color analyst and could also be heard at times on FOX Sports Radio and The Golf Channel.
IHeartMedia Tampa Bay called him a “WDAE sports radio icon.”
Duemig was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017.
