TPD news conference: Officer arrested on solicitation of prostitution charge

TAMPA, Fla. - A Tampa police officer has been relieved of his duty after he was arrested on West Cypress Street in Hillsborough County on Wednesday, TPD Chief Mary O'Connor said.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested Stanley Clerveaux on a solicitation of prostitution charge, according to the Tampa Police Department.
He was a police recruit scholarship recipient back in October 2020, and was officially sworn in as a Tampa police officer in May 2021, Chief O'Connor said during a Wednesday news conference.
The TPD chief said Clerveaux has no history of discipline during his time with the police department.
Tampa police said he has been relieved of all duty, pending an internal investigation.
TPD hasn't released any details about what led up to Clerveaux's arrest.
