Volunteers needed to keep Tampa Bay trash-free

Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful needs volunteers, sponsors, and partners for the 28th annual Hillsborough River and Coastal Cleanup to assist with removing litter and debris from neighborhoods and local waterways.

This cleanup is for volunteers of all ages, in hopes of building good habits to help the environment at a young age.

The event is September 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

There are more than 70 locations throughout Hillsborough County along the Hillsborough River, Alafia River, Little Manatee River, Lake Thonotosassa and tributaries connecting to Tampa Bay where volunteers are needed.

Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful hosts this event as part of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. The event coordinates data collection on the numbers and types of litter found throughout Hillsborough County's waterways.
