NWS says a tornado touched down in Crystal River Sunday afternoon

CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down Sunday in Citrus County.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office said the twister made landfall on the West Side of Crystal River.

No injuries have been reported.

People are being asked to avoid the area where the tornado touched down as crews work to assess the damage.
