Guinness World Record for 3-point shots held by Tampa realtor, coach

Tampa realtor and high school basketball coach Justin Dargahi does not hide the fact that he's a good shot - especially behind the 3-point line.

"I always expect it go in, so once it goes through that net, I'm like okay, that's what should happen," he said.

Ten basketballs went through the net a couple of months ago, which was good enough for a Guinness World Record - most 3-point shots made in one minute, without the help of a rebounder.

The official record is called "Most Basketball Three-Pointers In One Minute (Single Ball)."

Once verified, it'll be Dargahi's third Guinness World Record.

"Once my competitive playing days were over, I wanted to see what else I could do," he said.

He thought a couple of the basketball records were reachable.

In January 2016, he set "Most Basketball Three-Pointers In One Minute" with 26 makes, and then in March 2016, he added "Most Basketball Three-Pointers Made By A Pair In One Minute" with 23 makes.

Those two records were a little different than his recent one. Both allowed people to feed him multiple basketballs.

For the newest record, Dargahi had to do all of the work.

"I couldn't have any help," he said. "I had to shoot, run, get it, go back to the line, shoot, run, get it."

His 10 makes tie records set by a couple of Harlem Globetrotters. His other two records have had some big NBA names attached to them - Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, and Paul Pierce.

He may cross paths with those famous faces, but the way he shoots the ball looks nothing like his professional counterparts.

"I have an ugly form. I'll admit it," he said. "Everyone laughs at it."

Dargahi doesn't know what record he'll pursue next. He says he might try to pad his current records.

On Friday night at Cambridge Christian's gym, he hit eight of 11 shots. If he turns those misses to makes, he'll add to his current record.
