HSN enters marketing agreement with Visit St. Pete Clearwater

St. Pete and Clearwater are looking to an unlikely place to market tourism in the area.

Visit St. Pete Clearwater has teamed up with the Home Shopping Network to spread the word about beaches in Pinellas County.

Visit St. Pete Clearwater's CEO David Downing says HSN is America’s 4th largest cable network, making it the perfect place to target as many possible vacationers as possible. 

HSN's website is also one of the best in e-commerce, trailing Walmart and Amazon.

“We get to leverage the power of that brand,” Downing said. 

The main marketing campaign consists of a daily, live giveaway of a one week trip to the region. HSN will broadcast the giveaways live from various locations in Pinellas County.

"There's the sweepstakes component, the online component, in the packets; millions of them getting [mailed] out to the customers telling them about the destination,” Downing said.

HSN will run the campaign through the month of July.
