Legos at 'Bricks & Minifigs' stands the 'test of time'

A new store in Wesley Chapel is bringing generations together over their love of Legos.

It’s called “Bricks and Minifigs,” and it opened about two weeks ago by a Navy veteran, Adam Smyk. It can be found in the Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel.

“We buy, sell and trade everything that's Lego here,” he told FOX 13. "One of the best parts of being around Lego, is there's usually something in here that if you had in your childhood."

When Smyk used to return home from deployment, he would reconnect with his two young sons by building with Legos. After 20 years in the Navy, he retired and decided to invest in the brick business, where people can buy used sets, new sets, and individual figures. He will also buy your Legos.

“The last few years were the hardest, away from the family,” Smyk explained. “When the kids are that age, they don't really recognize the parents when they come off deployment, so we did Legos together to kind of reconnect."

The Legos made in the 1950s will still fit the blocks made today.  “They stand the test of time,” Smyk said.

Bricks & Minifigs does more than just buy, sell and trade. On top of the retail stuff, Bricks and Minifigs will be hosting Lego-themed birthday parties, which can be booked by calling the store.
