Otter family of seven eat, play and stay together at Columbus Zoo

COLUMBUS, Ohio (FOX 13) - Five otter pups at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium are a few months old, but are still as fun and feisty as when the public first learned about them.

The three males and two females were born on January 26, with each weighing between 1.2 to 1.4 pounds. 

Columbus Zoo shared video of the rambunctious ones splashing and swimming in a shallow river and waterfall as they follow the lead of their parents, Peanut and Gus, around their habitat. Toward the end of the video, the adorable family of seven are seen nibbling on their meals. Peanut and Gun are first-time parents. 

In April, the zoo shared video of the energetic otters playing in a small, orange bowl of water. The zoo says visitors can now see them on most days until the early afternoon. 

The Asian small-clawed otters are native to coastal regions in southern India and Southeast Asia but are at risk when it comes to habitat destruction, pollution, and hunting, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
